  • NOTE – You will often be given an alternative Collins Square shirt/jacket when you arrive but please always have your white shirt with you just in case

Barista – BLACK Long-Sleeved Ironed Men’s Business shirt, BLACK tie, BLACK tailored pants, BLACK fully enclosed polished leather shoes, BLACK socks, Name Badge, Note Pad & Pen, and Timesheets

Chef – WHITE Chef Jacket, Black & White Small Check Pants, Apron, Skull Cap/Hat, Safety Shoes, Knife Kit, Timesheets

Kitchenhand / Catering Assistant – BLACK Polo Shirt/T-Shirt (no logos), BLACK Tailored Trousers, BLACK Apron, Skull Cap/Hat, Safety Boots, Timesheets

Grooming 

MALE – Hair neatly trimmed & combed, conservative style and off the collar. Freshly clean shaven or beards and moustaches that are short & well-groomed

FEMALE – Long hair styles must be tied back with accessories MATCHING hair colour, IN A TIGHT OR TIDY BUN or DONUT (Short hair styles must be very tidy & off the face)

Jewellery & Accessories

  • Watches – Conservative styles allowed in silver, gold or black
  • Rings – Wedding rings sets or 2 rings per hand are acceptable, no bulky styles
  • Bracelets – Medical only
  • Necklaces – No visible necklaces
  • Piercings – No facial piercings or visible body piercings, females may wear one pair of hoop or stud style earrings, no larger than a five-cent piece
  • Tattoos – No visible tattoos
  • Make Up – Natural & neutral tones only, do not overuse
  • Perfume / Cologne – do not overuse
  • Nail polish – Nails clean, shirt & well-manicured, no nail polish allowed

Staff Entrance

Please enter via the Village Street Loading Dock (AND NOT via THE FRONT DOOR)

  • This loading dock is located at 29 Village Street, Docklands 3008
  • If arriving from Collins Street please take the stairs or elevator next to The Lantern Building down to Village Street
  • Enter Village Street Loading Dock on the other side of the pedestrian crossing
  • Go up the ramp & report to the Loading Bay Office, here you will sign out a B&E (Business & Events Centre) Contractor Pass
  • You will be asked to leave your name and company name (Hotelstaff)
  • Go back down the ramp and turn right, please follow the RED line to the Catering Lift
  • Use contractor Pass to take this lift up to Level 5 where you will come out in the kitchen, turn left into the BOH area & ask for a Supervisor

Public Transport

TRAIN

  • From Southern Cross station walk out Collins Street exit on Mezzanine Level and walk down Collins Street, away from the CBD, over the bridge (6 minute walk)

TRAM

  • Docklands tram down Collins Street, route 11 or 48, and exit at stop D15-Batmans Hill Drive

Car Parking

Your best option to access Collins Square is via Public Transport as above, but there are plenty of car parks available in the area (fees apply)

  • Wilson Parking – 750 Collins St, Melbourne

Please note you will not be able to leave shift to move parking location while on shift

Pay & Conditions

Pay and Conditions for this site are governed by the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010 [MA000009]. Pay Rates for Casual Classification apply as a Monday-Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday rate. For details go to Click Here for Current Pay Rates

Meal Break Provisions

All team members must bring their own meals to be consumed during 30-minute, unpaid scheduled breaks if shift exceeds 6 hours

  • All Staff Must Bring their own meals to be consumed during scheduled breaks. There is a great food court, supermarket and cafes close by
  • Collins Square do sometimes allow staff to consume the delicious food left over after an event
  • It is very important you await permission from a Collins Square Supervisor prior to any food consumption, and do not take any food off-site, this is to be consumed inside, in designated break areas only
