At the beginning of 2022 and with the impacts of Covid-19 still being felt, Hotelstaff made the decision to specialise solely in culinary talent. As a result, our service offering has become more focused and more personalised, delivering even greater benefits to both our clients and chefs.

1986

1986

founded

Hotelstaff is founded by Michelle Kleiman, with a focus on permanent hospitality positions in hotels and kitchens around Australia and internationally. Michelle’s large network combined with the rise of recruitment leads to rapid growth for the company.
1992

casual staffing

Hotelstaff branches out into casual recruitment for the hospitality industry, staffing the opening of a large hotel in Melbourne’s CBD.
1999

exclusivity

Hotelstaff becomes the exclusive recruitment partner to a number of major international hotels opening in Melbourne.
2014

growth

Nathan Szprinc is hired by Michelle, with a view to eventually take over Hotelstaff and continue her legacy. Using his industry knowledge and networks, we experience rapid growth across major entertainment, sporting and corporate events.
2016

takeover

Nathan takes full ownership of Hotelstaff and the company continues to grow its portfolio of clients. We quickly become the preferred partner for event and catering organisers across Victoria.
2019

acquisition

Hotelstaff acquires Octopus Hospitality & Events, consolidating our position in the marketplace and expanding our talent solutions into Health and Aged Care.
2020

covid 19

Hotelstaff was at the frontline when Covid-19 hit Australia. Our dedicated staff were placed in a number of aged care facilities and hospitals around the state. We also partnered with Parliament House for the Charity Meals Program, producing over 4000 meals a day for those hardest hit by the pandemic.
2021

brand refresh

Hotelstaff refreshes its brand, with a new focus on building a dynamic pool of loyal staff and being the most talent friendly hospitality agency in Melbourne.
2022

CHEF ONLY TALENT AGENCY

Working closely with industry leaders after the Covid-19 pandemic and with the return of Melbourne’s major events, Hotelstaff becomes the city’s only talent agency specialising in chefs.
