Uniforms must be clean and well-fitted. Undergarments should match the colour of the outergarments.

Chef - WHITE chef jacket, BLACK & WHITE small check or plain black pants, apron, skull cap / hat, non-slip safety shoes, sharpened knife kit, Hotelstaff timesheets.

Food or Beverage Attendant - Men's WHITE business shirt, black tailored trousers, long black tie, black fully enclosed leather shoes, long black socks, waiters friend, plain black name badge, Hotelstaff timesheets, note pad & pen. Aprons are provided by the client.

Barista - Men's BLACK business shirt, black tailored trousers, long black tie, black fully enclosed leather shoes, long black socks, waiters friend, plain black name badge, Hotelstaff timesheets, note pad & pen. Aprons are provided by the client.

Kitchenhand - BLACK Polo Shirt/T-Shirt (no logos), BLACK Tailored Trousers, BLACK Apron, Skull Cap/Hat, Safety Boots, Timesheets

Catering Assistant – BLACK Polo Shirt/T-Shirt (no logos), BLACK Tailored Trousers, BLACK Apron, Skull Cap/Hat, Safety Shoes, Name Badge, Timesheets

Personal Grooming

Pay attention to personal grooming habits. Ensure you maintain high levels of both grooming and hygiene.

HAIR STYLE - Keep hair neat & tidy. Long hair styles must be tied back with a matching accessories.

FACIAL HAIR - Faces must be clean shaven (no stubble). Beards and moustaches short & well-trimmed.

NAILS - To be clean, short and well manicured, no polish or false nails

MAKE-UP - Minimise make up and ensure neutral colours.

HYGIENE - Regular showering, brushing your teeth and using deodorant. Minimise strong scents.

JEWELERY - Wear minimal jewellery. Remove facial piercings and multiple ear piercings. Stud style earrings are acceptable. Watches & wedding bands are okay.

TATTOOS - No visible tattoos

Check-in location

Chefs:

  1. Enter via gate 1 Station Street
  2. Inform security staff that you’re from Hotelstaff
  3. You will be escorted to the Kitchen (or follow staff entrance details below)
  4. Staff parking is available in the centre car park, staff are welcome to enter via centre tunnel, maple, or guineas entry.

No bags are permitted in the kitchen/outlets, so we recommend travelling as light as possible.

Staff Entrance

The kitchen is located in the Norman Robinson Stand.

Entry to the Kitchen us via the downwards ramp.

 

Public Transport

Caulfield is located approximatley 11km south east of the Melbourne CBD.

It is readily accessed via public transport, with the Racecourse being located directly outside Caulfield Station.

Car Parking

Onsite Parking

  • Staff parking is available in the centre car park, staff are welcome to enter via centre tunnel, maple, or guineas entry (fees apply) & the car parks can fill up on race days.

Street Parking

  • limited, limits, restrictions and fees may apply

Parking Garage (Fees Apply)

  • none close

Please note you will not be able to leave shift to move parking location while on shift

Induction

No online induction required.

Request a Site Induction from supervisor on arrival.

Compliance Certificates

Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate - Mandatory for FOH Roles

  1. Ensure you have a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
  2. You will need to complete a refresher course (opens in a new window) every 3 years to keep your RSA current.

Food Handlers Certificate - Advised for BOH  & FOH Roles

  1. Obtain a Food Handlers Certificate

Police Check (National) - Advised to maximise job opportunities for specific clients

  1. Obtain a National Police Record Check, including full disclosures – not only unspent, but spent and vulnerable persons / unsupervised

Working with Childrens Check (Victorian) - Advised to maximise job opportunities for specific clients

  1. Obtain a Working with Childrens Check (Victorian), ensuring it is valid employment type check (not volunteer)

Pay and Conditions

Pay and Conditions for this site are governed by the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010 [MA000009].

Pay Rates for casual classifications apply as a Monday-Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday rates.
